Car of the Year 2013

The new Volvo V forty voted “Car of 2013” by the Commission “Car of the Year for Greece.” The Volvo V 40 stood out among 11 candidate models that participated in the final phase, which were selected by all the new models presented in the Greek market in 2012. It is worth noting that this is the second time in three years that Volvo model captures this distinction.

 In this year’s poll was held Monday, Dec. 10, voted 20 committee members, eminent journalists of the automotive industry, with extensive experience in print or online, in magazines or daily. The new Volvo V40 won first place with 91 points , followed by the Hyundai i30 with 65, the Honda Civic with 63, with 54 Opel Mokka, the Volkswagen Golf with 52. Completed the lineup – the ranking order – the Peugeot 208, Seat Mii / Skoda Citigo / VW up!, BMW Series 3, Audi A3, Fiat Panda and Renault Twingo.

On behalf of Volvo Car Hellas award was received by CEO John Petoulis, who warmly thanked the committee members added: “Already in the early stages of development of the new V forty was apparent that Volvo had grandiose plans for the new model! Parallel, quickly found that the company would be faced with unmet demand globally, precisely because of the quality of the car, which led to the decision to postpone for later presentation of V forty in the U.S. Canada and China. Despite the recession hitting the European car market, demand in Europe for the new V 40 is already more than 20% greater than that originally envisaged by Volvo Cars. In Greece the situation is even better with orders to exceed 50% of our initial forecasts and all the available production for Greece for 2012 are sold out! The V 40 has really set the bar very high and the title Car of 2013 that we will raise even higher! ”

The new Volvo V forty represents the brand in the highly competitive category of Premium on the 5th-doors hatchback. It is equipped with systems and technical characteristics derived from older models of Volvo – among them the pedestrian detection with automatic braking and collision avoidance system City Safety, which now operates up to 50 km / h – and is the first car in the world with an airbag pedestrians! Recently, the crash test body Euro NCAP, the V forty received a total of 111 points, marking the best performance ever recorded; this is highlighted as the safest car in the world!

Besides the top-and officially certified by an independent body – safety,  Volvo  V forty distinguished genuine Scandinavian  Design , luxury and high quality construction has to show leading driving dynamics, which was the primary objective of engineers  Volvo.  Chassis and suspension are designed to provide thrills on the road and true driving pleasure. The range of engines is complete with those of 1,600 ml stand, providing superior power (gasoline engine with 150 T3 and T4 with 180 horsepower) and an incredible economy (diesel D 2 με 3, 6 L / 100 km and zero road tax).

The interior has been given particular attention to driver and passengers to enjoy the tangible Scandinavian luxury. The new dashboard is characterized by fully graphical illustrations of signs – another first for Volvo car for this class. The TFT display offers the driver the individualized plan, increasing contact and providing a simplified and relaxed driving experience. Other items earn their impressions are of top quality materials, the panoramic glass roof, the center console flowing that seems suspended between the driver and front passenger, the choice of seven colors theatrical lighting, the interior mirror unframed, the infinite possibilities of connectivity the sound system and much more.

But equally important is the fact that the new Volvo V forty is affordable for what it offers, which certainly highly charged at the discretion of the Committee. Including retirement benefits, the new Volvo V 40 με 20.970 €, offered generous level of equipment at Optimum.
